Treatment Foster Care

This program provides out-of-home placement to children of all ages who are abused and neglected and who may have emotional and/or behavioral problems.

Adoption Services

Adoption services are provided to children who are already placed with our foster families and whose parental rights have been terminated. The program includes family selection, home study, pre-adoptive counseling and post-adoptive services. An administrative fee of $500 is charged to the adoptive family.

  • Foster parents may be given the opportunity to adopt a foster child

in their home, when that child becomes legally free for adoption.

  • Some foster children qualify for an adoption subsidy.  In that case,

the subsidy may provide the adoptive parents with a monthly stipend

to help defray the cost of raising a child, ongoing medical and dental care, and a one-time payment to assist with the legal costs of adoption.

  • A tuition grant program exists for qualified foster children and special

needs adoption recipients who attend a Virginia community college.

  • FOSTER TO ADOPT FAMILIES ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED!

Services for Pregnant Teen & Teen Mother and Child

Skilled and experienced foster families open their hearts and homes to nurture, educate and provide structure to the teenage mother and her child.

Independent Living

This service is offered to youth between the ages of 16 and 18. The teen may transition to the program while in foster care or may be referred directly to a semi-supervised living environment.

Respite Care

Children may be referred to CSV for the sole purpose of respite care. The child may be referred a single time or for an ongoing program of respite. Children already placed with CSV can also access planned and crisis respite care when needed.

After Care Services

Counseling and support is given to the family after their child returns from a residential or foster care placement. The focus of this service is to rebuild family ties and to insure healthy relationships between members of the family.
